Climatic-environmental tests

Products are often exposed to environmental and mechanical stresses on a daily basis. Heat, cold, humidity, wind and weather: extreme environmental conditions can have repercussions on the operation of products and equipment. In view of this, it is essential for companies to provide evidence that their products are capable of working perfectly in any conditions. IMQ can provide the necessary guarantees in terms of tests and checks, regardless of product sector, complexity and country of sale. Through our network of ISO 17025 accredited laboratories, IMQ verifies that components, equipment and products are suitable for use.

Thanks to our fleet of instrumentation, we can:

  • Evaluate the performance of products intended for locations subject to critical environmental or climatic conditions;
  • Verify the environmental conditions to which devices or products will be exposed during their service life: operation, transport and storage;
  • Create ad hoc tests that can be fully customised to suit customers’ needs.

Main tests performed:

  • Temperature and humidity tests
  • ISO 1431 ozone resistance tests
  • Tests in corrosive atmospheres: salt mist according to IEC 60068-2-11, IEC 60068-2-5, ISO 9227; sulphur dioxide according to IEC 60068-2-42

Testing of electrical products and machinery designed for contact with foods

  • For all electrical products and machinery designed for contact with foods (e.g. vending machines, machinery for the processing, preparation, storage and dispensing of food and beverages, etc.), IMQ offers tests designed to verify that the materials used in the equipment and intended for contact with foods cannot constitute a source of contamination.
  • The main tests, carried out in the laboratories of CSI (an IMQ Group company) relate to: global migration, specific migration, verification of the composition of materials by means of IR spectrophotometry, etc.
Management system certification is the endorsement enjoyed by organisations that have chosen to equip themselves with efficient management systems and suitable skills and structures, aimed at continuous improvement.
