Construction products directive (CPD)

Directive 89/106/EEC

Besides mandatory certification, IMQ also provides services for voluntary certification, for some products covered by the directive.

The directive applies to any product intended to be a permanent part of construction works considered as buildings and civil engineering works.

The CPD applies to a given product category only after the harmonised standard concerning the product in question has been published in the Official Journal of the European Union.

Different certification systems are provided for each product category, with notified bodies providing product assessments or production system surveillance.
