Directive 2003/87/EC
IMQ has been recognised by the Ministry of the Environment and Economic Development as a body for assessing reporting on greenhouse gas emissions, as required by the directive 2003/87/EC.
The directive requires operators of plants in main industrial sectors to register and report their CO2 emissions to a competent national authority (the Ministry of the Environment and Economic Development) by 31 March of each year.
Emissions must be assessed and validated by an independent body, such as IMQ, and may not exceed the annual limits set by the authority.
