Atex
Directive 2014/34/EU

The directive concerns electrical and non-electrical equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, as well as safety, controlling and regulating devices used outside potentially explosive atmospheres, required for or contributing to the functioning of these systems and equipment.
The products covered by the ATEX directive must meet essential safety and health requirements.
The assessment procedures to adopt to demonstrate conformity depend on the product category, based on a classification in the directive and related to the level of protection which is guaranteed.
Many of these procedures require assessment by an authorised, notified body such as IMQ.
