Gruppo IMQ

Transition to the 2018 edition of ISO 22000

With the publication of the edition 2018 of ISO 22000 all outstanding certificates will have to be updated within a transitional period of three years.

MAIN CHANGES
The main changes compared to the ISO 22000:2005 version are due to the introduction of the new HLS structure concepts (context analysis, stakeholders and inclusion of stakeholders' expectations in the objectives of the FMS, involvement of the management and integration of the system in the processes); other changes, more formal than substantive, are related in particular to the operational management (Par. 8) of food safety.

Some key terms definition and their use in HACCP are changed: a clear description of the differences between critical control points (CCPs), operational prerequisite programs (OPRPs) and prerequisite programs (PRPs) is provided in order to simplify the standard and maximize its efficiency.

Finally, the new standard integrates some functional contents of other industry standards such as ISO 22005, ISO TS 22004 and ISO 22002.

TRANSITION TO THE NEW STANDARD
The transition to the new standard will take place during the surveillance or renewal audits already planned according to operating methods shared with IMQ/CSQ.
